In the distant past, the demi-giants were once a unified giant race, but some chose a different path. Those who settled along the coast, embracing the bounties of the sea and the art of fishing, eventually became known as Storm Demigiants. They realized the value of community and cooperation, a stark contrast to the harsh and solitary lives of their Hill and Fire cousins. Storm demi-giants fostered relationships with both the graceful Elves and the Aquai, recognizing the benefits of unity and diplomacy. This integration with other good races enriched their culture and imbued them with a deep sense of empathy and compassion, traits less pronounced among other demi-giants. Over time, the Storm demi-giants not only weathered the physical storms of the coastal regions but also the metaphorical storms of prejudice and isolation. They became respected members of the broader Aelisus society and found a place within the illustrious city of Atheln, known as the City of Light. Some Storm demi-giants even rose to prominent positions, using their wisdom and empathy to contribute to the betterment of their diverse world.

Usual Height:

Massive, usually around 10-12 feet tall, slightly shorter than their Fire cousins.

No known hometown though they live in small coastal communities.

Storm demi-giants are relatively simple, though some are swayed to follow Navith as the goddess of light.

Physical Features:

Storm demi-giants are huge, towering over most others, save their Fire cousins who are slightly bigger. They share a resistance to physical damage and a vulnerability to mental spells and damage with other demi-giants. Storm demi-giants, through their dedication to fishing, even wading into the sea despite constant tumultuous thunderstorms in the wetter seasons, have gained resistance to lightning. While many perished in this pursuit, those that survived have long since passed on such a hardiness against nature.

Storm demi-giant society is marked by its kind and thoughtful nature, a stark departure from the harshness of their Hill and Fire cousins. They have embraced the value of community and prioritize the well-being of all members, especially the weakest among them. This sense of empathy and care is deeply ingrained in their way of life. While Storm demi-giants still live relatively simple lives, their social systems are more advanced compared to their simpler cousins. They have adopted democratic principles, electing leaders who have proven their dedication to the betterment of the Storm community. These elected leaders prioritize the interests of their kin and work tirelessly to ensure the welfare of all. Within Storm demi-giant society, cooperation and collaboration are highly regarded. They often engage in communal activities, such as fishing and resource gathering, to ensure everyone's needs are met. This strong sense of unity not only strengthens their bonds but also allows them to thrive in their coastal communities.

Relationships with Other Races:

Storm demi-giants are more than amicable with the elves and aquai, and are rather unthreatened by most smaller races, simply due to their larger size. They are very careful around their Fire demi-giant cousins, understanding their aggressive stance and way of life, and as such have a strong distaste towards them. They find hill demi-giants like simple younger siblings, and can get along with them but find them boring.
