History:

In the ancient past, before they diversified into distinct races, the Demigiants were once a unified giant race. However, some of them chose a different path, migrating from the harsh, rugged landscapes to the open fields and plains of Aelisus. These giants, who eventually became known as Hill Demigiants, sought a milder existence, preferring a life that was less harsh and more in harmony with the land. Hill Demigiants typically lead solitary lives or form small, tight-knit groups for hunting and gathering. They settled in the southern regions of Aelisus, closer to the territories of other civilized races. Hill Demigiants are strong and durable, shaped by the constant demands of survival in their open habitats. However, their focus on survival has left them with a simpler, more straightforward nature. These giants do not pose problems for most smaller races and often regard them with curiosity, especially when hunger is not a pressing concern. Hill Demigiants, while not particularly intellectual, possess a keen sense of adaptation, making them adept at thriving in the diverse landscapes of Aelisus and coexisting with its various inhabitants.

Usual Height:

Massive, usually around 10-12 feet tall, slightly shorter than their Fire cousin

Hometown:

No known hometown. They often live among the plains or hills.

Religion:

Hill demi-giants rarely engage in religion, unless they have a higher communing with nature or feel the need to express combat with divine favor.

Physical Features:

Hill demi-giants are huge, towering over most others, save their Fire cousins who are slightly bigger. They share a resistance to physical damage and a vulnerability to mental spells and damage with other demi-giants. Hill demi-giants, historically having trouble with bows and arrows, instead learned to throw boulders at prey. This tactic however, often completely obliterated their dinner, much to their dismay.

Society:

Hill demi-giants typically form small hunting and gathering groups. Usually the best hunter would lead the group, which rarely exceeds four or five individuals.

Relationships with Other Races:

Hill demi-giants find most races who can speak to them as an interesting curiosity. As long as they are not overly hungry, they are easy to integrate with other individuals, though participating in cities and societies has proven a challenge due to their clumsy and oblivious nature.
