Halflings' greatest allies have been the elves, forging deep friendships. Along with many kind-hearted animals, halflings have thrived in the forest of the ancients, embracing the simple pleasures of life. They often slumber in the soft grass, basking in the dappled sunlight, and sharing tales over pipeweed. In the tranquil Atheln countryside, halflings have also found solace, tending to their gardens and crafting rustic homes amidst the rolling hills. Their deep connection to nature has earned them a reputation as skilled herbalists and foragers, with their pipeweed being particularly prized throughout Aelisus.

Some however have found faith in Navith or Wendr, feeling their odds at life were better with someone looking after them from overhead.

Halflings in Aelisus are a diminutive and nimble folk, embodying remarkable agility and resilience. Their small stature, standing no taller than three and a half feet, allows them to navigate tight spaces and evade notice with ease. Generations of pipeweed consumption have bestowed upon halflings an innate resistance to magical effects, making them formidable opponents against mystical forces. Their physical attributes, combined with their natural affinity for stealth and cunning, make halflings exceptional rogues and infiltrators. They can move through shadows and evade detection with grace, and their keen wits enable them to excel in the art of subterfuge and thievery.

Halflings society revolves largely around food and pipeweed. Gold holds a firm second-place in the hearts of halflings as it is a powerful medium to the first two priorities. All other facets of life are merely background noise to the average halfling. As long as the creature comforts are maintained, the halfling is happy.

Halflings are happy to share a tale with any race over a pack of pipeweed. Ironically, their closest friends in the elves virtually never participate. This openness has allowed the halflings to be seen as a relatively harmless bunch, yet difficult to pin down when treated as prey by less than friendly races.
