In the distant past, the Fire Demi-giants were not a separate race from hills and storms, but part of a unified demi-giant lineage that thrived in the harsh, distant, mountainous landscapes of Aelisus. Those who would become fire demi-giants settled among the searing heat of volcanoes and thermal vents. They are known for their incredible strength and resilience, earned through the relentless labor of moving massive rocks to build their homes in these barren and unforgiving mountains. Over time, as their environments shaped them, these giants began to develop unique characteristics that set them apart. Their physical prowess grew to astonishing levels, and they became nearly impervious to both physical pain and the searing touch of fire itself. However, the society of these giants took on a harsh and unforgiving nature. In their relentless pursuit of strength and survival, they left no room for weakness. The weak were often abandoned to fend for themselves, leading to a brutal way of life where only the fittest survived.

Fire demi-giants are massive, and typically even bigger than their demi-giant cousins. They share a resistance to physical damage and a vulnerability to mental spells and damage with other demi-giants. Their particular lineage has a unique weakness to ice-based damage and a resistance to fire based damage. They also have an affinity with fire, dealing extra damage with fire based weapons.

Fire demi-giants typically form small family units, each ruled by the most dominant patriarch and, in exceedingly rare cases, a matriarch. These leaders held absolute authority within their families, and their word was law. Fire demi-giants find most races, quite literally, beneath them. They only ever have a minor amount of respect for other demi-giants and perhaps particularly skillful minotaurs or ogres who share their size.
